As a <strong>988 Crisis Call Specialist on Swing or Graveyard shifts</strong>, you play a <strong>critical role</strong> in providing calm, compassionate, life-saving support when other resources may be limited.</p><p>If you’re someone who:</p><ul><li>Thrives during evening or overnight hours</li><li>Stays grounded in high-stress, high-impact moments</li><li>Finds purpose in being there when others can’t</li></ul><p>This role was built for you.</p><p>  </p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>The <strong>988 Crisis Call Specialist</strong> provides high-quality crisis intervention and emotional support to individuals contacting the <strong>988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline</strong> via phone, online chat, and SMS text. This fully remote role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while remaining connected to a supportive clinical team.</p><p><br></p><p>Swing and Graveyard shifts are ideal for professionals who are confident, focused, and compassionate during quieter but often more intense hours.</p><p>  </p><p><strong>Shift Information</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Swing Shifts:</strong> Late afternoon through evening</li><li><strong>Graveyard Shifts:</strong> Overnight, including weekends and holidays</li></ul><p>These shifts offer consistent scheduling and are well-suited for candidates who prefer non-traditional hours and fewer daytime distractions.</p><p>  </p><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p><ul><li>Respond to 988 calls, or chats and texts, with empathy and professionalism</li><li>Conduct suicide and behavioral health risk assessments</li><li>De-escalate high-intensity situations using evidence-based practices</li><li>Collaborate with on-shift clinicians when elevated risk is identified</li><li>Create safety and action plans with callers</li><li>Provide referrals and connections to community resources</li><li>Complete accurate and timely documentation</li><li>Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all program and organizational protocols</li></ul><p>Requirements</p><p> <strong>Qualifications & Experience</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Required:</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED <strong>plus four (4) years</strong> of full-time behavioral health experience  <strong>OR</strong> an equivalent combination of education and experience</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Ability to multitask across multiple software platforms</li><li>Comfort working independently during evening or overnight hours</li><li><strong>Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential required by the end of the probationary period.</strong> Applications must be submitted within 30 days of hire. Crisis Connections will reimburse the cost of obtaining the credential. </li></ul><p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p><ul><li>Crisis intervention or contact center experience</li><li>Experience in suicide prevention, mental health, or substance use services</li><li>Knowledge of local or state public mental health systems</li></ul><p><strong>Remote Work Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>High-speed wired internet connection (no hotspots or cellular)</li><li>Smartphone capable of Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)</li><li>Quiet, confidential workspace</li><li>Ability to remain seated/standing and focused for extended periods while managing multiple systems</li></ul><p><strong>Commitment to Inclusion</strong></p><p><br>We are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
