Longeway Construction is hiring for upcoming residential construction and remodeling projects starting at the beginning of June.

We are looking for motivated, reliable people who take pride in their work, show up on time, and work well as part of a crew. Projects may include new construction, remodels, additions, decks, framing, siding, repairs, foundation work, bathroom and kitchen remodels, and finish work.

Positions Available

CarpenterCarpenters should have experience in residential construction and remodeling, including framing, layout, deck building, siding, window and door installation, trim work, demolition, foundation layout and prep, minor plumbing support, kitchen and bathroom remodel work, and general jobsite problem-solving.

Carpenters should be comfortable reading basic plans, taking accurate measurements, using layout tools, cutting and assembling framing materials, installing structural hardware, and working safely around other trades.

Apprentice CarpenterApprentice carpenters should have some construction experience and a strong willingness to learn. This position is a good fit for someone looking to build skills in framing, remodeling, decks, siding, trim, layout, hardware installation, foundation prep, minor plumbing support, kitchen and bathroom remodel work, and general building practices.

LaborerLaborers will assist with jobsite preparation, material handling, demolition, cleanup, digging, loading and unloading materials, organizing tools, foundation prep, and supporting carpenters throughout the workday.

Typical Residential Construction Tasks May Include

  • Framing walls, floors, decks, stairs, and roof structures
  • Installing joists, beams, posts, rafters, backing, blocking, sheathing, and subfloor
  • Installing siding, trim, windows, doors, and exterior details
  • Foundation layout, excavation, forming, rebar placement, concrete prep, and cleanup
  • Pier pads, footings, stem walls, crawlspace work, post bases, and concrete support work
  • Bathroom and kitchen demolition, prep, and rebuild support
  • Removing and installing cabinets, vanities, shelving, fixtures, trim, and finish materials
  • Minor plumbing-related tasks such as fixture removal and replacement, supply line and drain connection support, and coordination with licensed trades when required
  • Preparing spaces for tile, flooring, drywall, waterproofing, cabinets, countertops, and fixtures
  • Removing drywall, cabinets, flooring, siding, decking, framing, and other materials during remodels
  • Preparing and protecting existing finishes during remodel work
  • Measuring, cutting, fastening, leveling, plumbing, and layout
  • Using saws, drills, nail guns, impact drivers, levels, squares, and other common tools
  • Installing Simpson hardware and other structural connectors
  • Reading basic plans, details, and jobsite instructions
  • Working safely around plumbers, electricians, roofers, painters, and other trades
  • Keeping the jobsite clean, organized, and safe
General Expectations Applicants should be able to show up on time, follow directions, work well with others, use tools safely, lift and carry construction materials, work outdoors in different jobsite conditions, and take pride in quality workmanship.
