Ridgeland Construction is a fast-growing commercial subcontractor focused on delivering high-quality projects through strong field leadership, operational discipline, and reliable execution. We are seeking a driven Project Manager who can lead projects through coordination, communication, scheduling, budgeting, and field support while working closely with superintendents and general contractors.

Position Summary The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple commercial construction projects from startup through closeout. This role manages daily operations indirectly through field superintendents while maintaining control of schedules, budgets, communication, subcontractor coordination, documentation, and client relationships.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, budget-minded, and capable of managing several moving parts simultaneously in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Assign projects to superintendents based on location and workload
  • Provide superintendents with complete project startup information and job summaries
  • Manage project schedules, manpower coordination, and operational planning
  • Monitor project budgets and profitability throughout the life of each project
  • Order and coordinate material deliveries and equipment needs
  • Ensure punch lists and project closeouts are completed efficiently
  • Conduct final walkthroughs upon project completion
Field & Superintendent Support
  • Support superintendents with subcontractor coordination and scheduling
  • Attend jobsite meetings when superintendents are unavailable
  • Maintain communication with GC superintendents to ensure project success
  • Help coordinate labor and manpower coverage when needed
  • Monitor field performance, safety awareness, and crew quality
  • Ensure proper use of company systems including proper job documentation
Communication & Documentation
  • Manage project emails, RFIs, Change Orders, and project correspondence
  • Distribute updated drawings and project information to field teams
  • Coordinate with estimating on revision-based or large Change Orders
  • Maintain organized project documentation and reporting
  • Submit back charges and notices as required
Operational Expectations
  • Maintain strong attention to budgets and profitability
  • Stay proactive in identifying project issues before they escalate
  • Communicate effectively with office staff, field teams, vendors, and general contractors
  • Participate in weekly superintendent meetings to review project progress and upcoming goals
Qualifications
  • Experience in commercial construction project management
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and field operations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working with superintendents, subcontractors, and general contractors
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace preferred
  • Bilingual a plus (Spanish)
Preferred Experience
  • Commercial drywall, framing, ceilings, or specialty subcontractor experience
  • Experience managing fast-paced commercial projects
  • Familiarity with RFIs, Change Orders, submittals, and project documentation

Schedule
  • Full-time
  • Monday–Friday, occasional weekends may be required
