Commercial Truck and Trailer Painter

Kolstad is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Truck and Trailer Painter to join our team in Blaine, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for the final, critical step in our repair and fabrication process: ensuring our customers' commercial vehicles and equipment look professional and are protected from the elements. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare commercial truck bodies, trailers, and heavy equipment for painting (including washing, sanding, masking, taping, and priming).
• Mix paints, hardeners, and reducers accurately to achieve exact color matches and proper consistencies.
• Apply single-stage, basecoat/clearcoat, and industrial coatings using standard spray equipment (e.g., HVLP guns).
• Inspect painted surfaces for flaws, runs, or imperfections, and perform buffing or touch-ups as required.
• Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot spray guns, painting equipment, and the paint booth to ensure optimal performance.
• Safely handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials, strictly adhering to all company safety guidelines, AWAIR programs, and environmental regulations.

• Minimum two years of experience in automotive, commercial, or industrial painting (experience with large vehicles or heavy equipment is a strong plus).
• Thorough understanding of surface preparation techniques, paint mixing, and spray gun operation.
• Ability to match colors accurately and produce a smooth, high-quality finish.
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of the job, including bending, reaching, and wearing a respirator and other required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to maintain a clean and organized work area.
