Data Analyst Intern

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Data Analyst Intern to join our team. You will work directly with real Point-of-Sale (POS) data to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and provide actionable insights that drive business optimization and growth. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone passionate about turning data into real business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze daily/weekly POS sales data to identify trends in revenue, product performance, customer behavior, and peak hours. Build and maintain reports and dashboards in Excel (pivot tables, charts, formulas, etc.). Spot opportunities for optimization (pricing, inventory, promotions, staffing, menu/product mix, etc.). Present findings and recommendations clearly to the management team. Support data-driven decisions for business growth strategies. Help track the performance of implemented changes.

Requirements

• Background or coursework in Data Analysis, Business Analytics, Statistics, or related field. Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, charts, conditional formatting, basic formulas). Understanding of POS systems and retail/restaurant transaction data is a big plus. Ability to identify patterns in data and translate them into clear business recommendations. Detail-oriented with good analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills (you’ll present your insights). Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (undergrad or grad).

No advanced programming experience required - we value practical Excel skills and business thinking most.
