Responsibilities
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment using aseptic techniques, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and preparing treatment rooms.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging), including intraoral and extraoral images, ensuring proper safety measures are followed.
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or special care.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory, sterilization area, and supply inventory to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and assisting with dental reception duties when needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting or as a dental assistant is a must.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines safely and effectively.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide compassionate patient care.
Certification in dental assisting or dental sterilization tech is a must.
