Our client, a prestigious hospitality group renowned for its exceptional guest experiences, is seeking a highly creative and accomplished Executive Chef to lead the culinary vision for their flagship resort located in beautiful Huntsville, Alabama, US . This is a unique opportunity to shape the gastronomic identity of a premier destination, overseeing all aspects of food production and presentation across multiple dining venues. You will be responsible for menu development, kitchen staff management, inventory control, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene. The ideal candidate possesses a refined palate, a passion for innovative cuisine, and a proven ability to inspire and lead a culinary team to achieve excellence.
Responsibilities: Develop, execute, and oversee creative and appealing menus for all resort dining outlets, including fine dining, casual, banquets, and events. Manage and mentor the entire kitchen brigade, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment. Ensure consistent culinary quality and presentation that meets or exceeds guest expectations. Control food and labor costs through effective inventory management, purchasing, and waste reduction strategies. Maintain strict adherence to all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations (HACCP). Source high-quality ingredients, establishing strong relationships with reputable suppliers. Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Director and General Manager on menu planning, pricing, and promotions. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development for kitchen staff. Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and passion for culinary arts. Manage kitchen operations efficiently, ensuring smooth service during peak periods. Innovate and introduce new culinary trends and techniques to keep offerings fresh and exciting. Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of kitchen equipment and facilities. Qualifications: Culinary degree from a recognized institution or equivalent apprenticeship. Minimum of 7 years of progressive culinary experience, with at least 3 years in an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef role, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting. Demonstrated expertise in a wide range of culinary styles and techniques. Proven ability to manage and lead a large kitchen team effectively. Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and inventory management principles. Exceptional knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Creativity and passion for developing unique and memorable dining experiences. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in kitchen management software and MS Office.
