Field Logistics Coordinator – HVAC & Plumbing Operations Support(Parts Runner)

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Position Summary

A-1 Heating, Cooling & Plumbing is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Field Logistics Coordinator (Parts Runner) to support our HVAC and plumbing operations teams throughout Western Colorado. This position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient field operations by ensuring technicians receive the materials, equipment, tools, and operational support needed to keep jobs moving on schedule.

This role is currently structured as a part-time position with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on company growth, performance, and operational needs.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong communication with dispatch, warehouse staff, vendors, and field technicians.

Location

Western Colorado / Western Slope

Route Information

Daily routes will typically begin at our Grand Junction shop and travel throughout the Western Slope service area to support technicians, vendors, warehouses, and job sites.

Schedule

  • Shift Hours: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Position begins as part-time with potential opportunity for full-time advancement
  • Occasional weekend availability may be required during peak seasons or emergency situations
Key Responsibilities
  • Pick up a company vehicle from the Grand Junction shop at the beginning of each shift and return the vehicle at the end of the shift
  • Pick up and deliver HVAC, plumbing, and installation materials to technicians and job sites
  • Support service, maintenance, installation, and plumbing departments with urgent parts requests to help keep jobs on schedule
  • Maintain communication with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, vendors, and field technicians throughout the day
  • Verify parts, equipment, quantities, and job information prior to delivery
  • Assist technicians with material organization and job site support as needed
  • Assist with organizing, stocking, and maintaining warehouse inventory
  • Safely load and unload equipment, tools, and materials
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles, warehouse spaces, and staging areas
  • Process vendor pickups, returns, and material transfers between locations
  • Deliver permits, paperwork, tools, and operational documents between office and field locations
  • Accurately track receipts, packing slips, delivery confirmations, and purchase documentation
  • Assist with inventory counts and warehouse housekeeping
  • Communicate delivery updates, delays, or shortages promptly to management and dispatch
  • Follow all company safety procedures while operating vehicles and handling equipment
  • Represent A-1 Heating, Cooling & Plumbing professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and team members
  • Maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer and team support at all times
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds regularly
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing schedules throughout the day
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Comfortable using smartphones, GPS/maps, and basic mobile applications
  • Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed
  • Ability to work independently while staying connected with the operations team
  • Basic HVAC or plumbing knowledge is helpful but not required

  • Familiarity with the Western Slope service area
