Position Summary The part-time / full time, hourly coach is responsible for role modeling, guiding, and coaching young people to become responsible Game Changers and committed active golfers; positively impacting their lives through First Tee Golf and Life Skills Experience using lesson plans and First Tee Coach Building Blocks.

Responsibilities

  • Summer Camp: provide First Tee curriculum coaching Monday through Thursday to
  • youth of all ages at Serenoa Golf Course
  • After School: provide First Tee curriculum coaching Monday through Thursday to youth of all ages at various locations through Sarasota and Manatee Counties
  • Maintain a professional and cordial attitude towards co-workers, volunteers, participants, and parents/guardians
  • Become proficient in the delivery of First Tee Curriculum
  • Commence and end scheduled classes on time
  • Convey the chapter’s brand image to the public
  • Assist in any other coaching capacity (i.e. tournaments, outreach, etc.)
  • Make the game safe and fun for all participants and provide a safe environment in all areas, while adhering to the standards of the First Tee Code of Conduct
  • Be charismatic, personable, and motivational in working with youth of all ages
  • Be available to attend meetings and training sessions
Requirements
  • Must be able to pass and maintain yearly background checks and SafeSport Training
  • Ability to stand (up to 3-4 hours at a time)
  • Ability to withstand the Florida heat
  • Must have graduated high school
  • Must have a valid drivers license
Qualifications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including late afternoons, evenings, and weekends (site dependent) as well as summers (hours are site dependent)
  • Communication Skills
  • Ability to teach lessons and communicate verbally in a positive way to participants and parents/guardians
  • Ability to consistently communicate with participant parents/guardians
  • Keep Program Director directly informed of all interactions with participants, parents/guardians, and facility staff
  • Personable, motivational, and charismatic in working with youth and adults
  • Confidence: calm, positive, motivational with youth of all ages
Hours
  • Summer Camp Hours 7:30am start time Monday - Thursday at Serenoa Golf Club
-7:30am - 4:30pm (latest) -25 - 32 hours a week
  • Afterschool Program
-Locations varied through the school year -Preferred ability to work minimum two times a week

-4:30pm - 6:30pm (hours may vary depending on time of year)

Compensation

  • Hourly compensation is $20 per hour
Pay: $20.00 per hour Work Location: On the road
