Reports To: Grammar School Headmaster

Purpose The Grammar School Lunchroom Supervisor supports the mission of the Geneva School of Boerne by creating a safe, orderly, and welcoming lunch environment for students. This position models Christ-like character, encourages respectful behavior, and helps foster positive relationships among students during the lunch period, ensuring that this daily routine supports both student well-being and community life.

Summary The Grammar School Lunchroom Supervisor is responsible for overseeing students during lunch periods, maintaining appropriate supervision and safety, and assisting with routines such as seating, transitions, and cleanup. This role works closely with faculty and staff to reinforce school expectations and promote courteous, responsible behavior. The supervisor serves as a consistent, caring presence who helps students develop self-control, respect for others, and good stewardship of shared spaces, all while supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the lunchroom.

Supervision Received and Exercised The GS Lunchroom Supervisor will receive direction from the GS Headmaster. The GS Lunchroom Supervisor must exercise judgment that is in keeping with the School’s philosophy of education, beliefs and values. The GS Headmaster or designee will offer instruction, advice, and direction.

The GS Lunchroom Supervisor exercises functional supervision over K-Prep – 5th grade level students.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time, academic year position. In general, the workday is 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., five days a week for ten months.

Spiritual Leadership

  • Study the Bible, God’s only written Word
  • Skillfully articulate the personal/ethical implications of a lifelong faith commitment
  • Measure knowledge against the standard of God’s revealed truth in Scripture
  • Actively participate in the explicitly religious components of the student and community programs
  • Demonstrate an overt commitment to the life of a church and its core traditions
  • Respect the School’s Christian mission and values, and aid students in Christian formation by exemplifying Christian living, both in and out of the classroom
  • Be a positive role model for students by supporting Geneva’s Beliefs, including the School’s Statement of Faith and Statement on Identity, Sexuality and Gender.
  • Perform duties as a minister and steward of the Christian faith
Student Supervision & Safety
  • Actively supervise grammar school students during lunch periods to ensure a safe, orderly, and positive environment.
  • Maintain order over two to three grade levels of students throughout rotating lunch sessions
  • Assist with student routines including lining up, seating, transitions, and dismissal.
  • Respond promptly to spills, accidents, or minor injuries in accordance with school protocols.
  • Maintain awareness of student allergies or special considerations as directed.
  • Uphold school policies related to student supervision, safety, and confidentiality.
Student Guidance & Culture
  • Model Christ-like behavior and uphold the grammar school culture, values, expectations, and lunchroom procedures.
  • Expect respectful interactions, self-control, and age-appropriate behavior among students.
  • Address minor behavioral issues with clarity, consistency, fairness, and care.
  • Promote cleanliness and good stewardship of the lunchroom by guiding students in proper cleanup.
  • Support a welcoming environment that reflects Geneva’s Christ-centered community.
Operations, Communication & Collaboration
  • Be punctual and assist with lunchroom setup each school day to ensure smooth and timely operations.
  • Provide classical music selections during the lunch periods.
  • Assist with cleanup efforts following lunch, including restoring the lunchroom to a configuration suitable for afternoon activities.
  • Communicate behavioral concerns or recurring issues to teachers or administrators in a timely manner.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are readily available and communicate with the GS office when supplies need to be re-stocked
  • Provide guidance and direction to parent-lunch volunteers to maintain consistent expectations
