The Impact
You’ll Make in this Role As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in conducting various tests and experiments to ensure the performance and quality of 3M’s consumer products. Here, you will make an impact by: Performing a wide range of laboratory tests and experiments on consumer products, following established protocols and procedures Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data accurately and efficiently Operating, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results Preparing samples for testing, adhering to strict safety guidelines Using computer software to document and report test results, ensuring accuracy and completeness Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during testing Training others on sample preparation, test methods, and lab protocols Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements: Two-year associate degree or higher in a relevant scientific field (ex: chemistry, biology) from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start) Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a laboratory setting in a private, public, government or military environment Current, valid Driver’s License Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: 2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment, preferably within consumer products or a related industry Working knowledge of quality control and quality assurance processes Proficiency with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently Solid understanding of laboratory safety protocols, procedures, and best practices Hands-on experience operating laboratory equipment and instrumentation Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to follow procedures and instructions accurately Strong organizational, time management, communication, and collaboration skills Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
