Cain Trucking Incorporated has an immediate opening and is seeking a safe, reliable, and professional Ready-Mix Driver to transport concrete from our batch plant to customer job sites. Celebrating over 100 years of operation, we are a family-owned, industry-leading business that takes pride in a modern fleet and a culture where safety comes first. This role involves operating a heavy-duty mixer truck, ensuring product quality, maintaining equipment, and providing excellent customer service.
Roles & Responsibilities
Safe Operation: Drive and operate a ready-mix truck in strict compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and company regulations.
Delivery & Dispatch: Follow dispatch instructions, handle delivery tickets accurately, and maintain radio contact for timely arrivals.
Job Site Safety: Inspect destination sites to verify safe maneuvering, chute setup, and unloading procedures.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, check fluid levels, and report mechanical issues immediately.
Equipment Cleanliness: Rinse chutes and the rear assembly between loads. Wash down the drum and exterior daily to prevent concrete buildup.
Quality Control: Visually inspect concrete consistency and manage slump (water content) to meet customer specifications.
General Duties: Assist with plant housekeeping, yard work, and minor truck maintenance if necessary. Example (Change mud flap, check tire pressure & trouble shooting).
Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and team members.
Requirements & Qualifications
License: Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Class A is preferred.
Minimum Age Requirement: 23 years of age
Air Brakes: Certified or capable of passing the required air brake skills test.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience (Required for insurance compliance).
Driving Record: No more than 3 active points on your MVR within the last 36 consecutive months.
Physical Strength: Ability to safely lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds in construction environments.
Schedule: Requires a flexible schedule with the ability to work varied shifts (days, nights, weekends) to meet operational and customer requirements.
Screening: If required must pass a background check, fitness-for-duty evaluation, and pre-employment drug screen.
Communication: Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English to interact with dispatch and customers.
Independence: Work productively without direct daily supervision while out on the road.
