Schedule patient appointments accurately while managing multiple-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification tasks, and process medical billing using CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare guidelines.
Maintain meticulous medical records by filing documents correctly and reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Assist with medical administrative support tasks including data entry, typing reports, updating health information management systems, and managing clinic correspondence.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all interactions and documentation review processes.
Support clinical staff by facilitating intake procedures, updating care plans, and coordinating patient flow efficiently.
Use office management software such as Microsoft Office Suite to prepare reports and manage scheduling logs effectively.
Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with familiarity in medical reception duties.
Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems eClinicalWorks.
Excellent understanding of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding standards, CPT coding, and insurance verification processes.
Demonstrated ability to handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.
Proficiency in computer skills including typing (10 key), Microsoft Office applications, filing systems, and health information management software.
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management.
