Apple-a-Day Pediatrics is seeking a positive, compassionate, and qualified Medical Assistant to join our family-oriented pediatric practice in Oswego, Illinois. This role supports our providers by performing both clinical and administrative duties while focusing on high-quality, patient-centered care for children from newborns through age 22.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for examination and obtain accurate vital signs and medical histories;
Perform basic laboratory testing and record results;
Administer vaccinations and immunizations per provider orders;
Assist providers during pediatric exams and procedures;
Support smooth patient flow and maintain patient comfort and safety;
Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and assist with check-in/check-out; and
Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required;
Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, CCMA);
Non-certified candidates must have at least one year of clinical experience;
Current CPR Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross);
Strong communication, computer and typing skills;
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities;
Positive, team-oriented attitude; and
Prior pediatric or medical assistant experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance;
Frequently work with computers and look at computer screens and other electronic devices; and
Ability to distinguish shades of color when reading dipstick.
Schedule Requirements:
This position requires ability of at least 25 hours per week.
Ideal candidates will be able to work weekday afternoon/evening shifts, generally Monday-Friday, approximately 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
Saturday availability is needed for approximately two (2) Saturdays per month, 7:45 AM - 12:00 PM.
On occasion, shifts may extend beyond the regularly scheduled end time to support patient care needs.
Scheduled hours will be discussed and finalized collaboratively at the time of hire.
Benefits:
Starting hourly rate is $21.00 per hour, depending on qualifications.
