Confidential Employer Sacramento, CA On-site Full-time Pay:

We’re a busy orthopedic surgery practice in the Greater Sacramento area looking for an experienced Practice Manager to lead day-to-day operations. You’ll own staffing, scheduling, billing partnership, vendor relationships, payroll, referral relationships, and the financial operations of a high-trust independent practice.

If you’ve run an orthopedic, surgical, or specialty practice and are looking for an autonomous role with a tight, collegial physician group and real ownership over operations, we’d love to talk.

What you’ll own

  • Lead all clinical and administrative staff: hiring, training, scheduling, performance management
  • Manage provider and surgery scheduling — keep our surgeons productive and our patients moving
  • Run biweekly payroll through Paychex, manage banking and QuickBooks daily entries
  • Partner with our billing team on revenue cycle performance, payor mix, and collections
  • Build and maintain relationships with referring physicians and community partners
  • Own vendor relationships and annual renewals: health benefits, workers’ comp, malpractice, business license, hospital credentialing, equipment recertification (MRI, X-ray, fluoro)
  • Keep the front desk humming: phone protocols, patient communication, billing transparency, and the patient experience
  • Be the first call for IT, EMR (EPIC), and facilities issues
Plus, if it’s an area you want to grow into: shape our marketing and referral-development efforts as the practice expands.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years managing a healthcare practice, preferably orthopedic, surgical, or specialty
  • Working knowledge of medical billing, revenue cycle, payor mix, and collections
  • Experience with EPIC (or comparable EMR), Paychex (or comparable payroll), QuickBooks, and Excel (including pivot tables / basic macros)
  • Track record managing 10+ staff and a complex vendor stack
  • Comfortable with both the patient-facing day-to-day and the back-office quarterly close cycle
  • Strong communicator who can be a true team player with physicians and clinical staff
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare admin, business, or related field preferred
  • MGMA / AAOE / PAHCOM certification (CMPE, CPPM) a plus
What we offer
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Paid vacation / PTO
  • 401(k) with profit sharing
  • A high-trust, low-bureaucracy environment with experienced physician partners
Why us We’re an independent, physician-owned orthopedic practice — real ownership, real autonomy, and real impact on the practice. Our MSO partner handles consolidated financial reporting, billing scale, and growth strategy — your job is to make the clinic itself run beautifully.
