The Law Practice of Teri A. Pollett-Hinkle, is a small elder law and estate planning law firm providing service to clients in and around Grant County, Indiana . We strive to help and support those who are facing stressful medical and financial situations and need legal help for themselves or their loved ones.
We practice elder law/Medicaid planning, estate planning, and estate administration and have an immediate part-time opening for a Paralegal/legal Assistant/Receptionist. Opportunity to grow into a full-time position within 1 year.
This is a job where you must have the ability to multi-task effectively, and work compassionately with clients under great emotional stress and often times limited or diminished cognitive abilities.
This position is a big part of the clients experience at the firm. You will be the first person our clients speaks with when setting an appointment and when arriving for their appointment. The position is a crucial part of the firm. Strong analytical and math skills, as well as great attention to detail are required.
Experience required: A strong preference for someone who has at least 2 -3 years in estate planning, trust administration and/or elder law. Paralegal certificate, B.S. or other 4 year degree preferred but not required.
Some of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Answering phones and scheduling client appointments
Drafting estate planning documents, including deeds
Preparing Petitions for Probate and Guardianship Administrations
Witnessing and notarizing documents
Working directly with clients to gather/request information
Preparing Probate Inventories and Accountings
E-filing Documents
Assist Attorney with preparing Medicaid applications
Follow-up directly with clients to gather supporting documentation
Organize, review, and analyze financial statements
