Construction Superintendent — Large-Scale AI Data Center
Location: Amarillo, TX (Project Site) | Full-Time | Travel Position | Competitive Salary + Per Diem (All Candidates)
ABOUT THE PROJECT
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent for one of the most ambitious construction programs underway in the United States — a ground-up, large-scale AI data center campus in Amarillo, Texas. This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to lead field operations on a landmark project for a nationally recognized, top-20 ENR general contractor with a decades-long track record of delivering complex, mission-critical builds.
ROLE OVERVIEW The Superintendent will own day-to-day field execution across civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) scopes on a high-velocity, large-footprint ground-up campus build. You will drive schedule, quality, and safety while coordinating a large workforce of subcontractors and self-perform crews across multiple concurrent work fronts.
This is a full-time traveling position. Per diem and project-based travel support are provided to all candidates regardless of home location — if you live locally in Amarillo, you still receive the full per diem package.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead all CSA field operations including shell, site utilities, civil infrastructure, and structural scope from mobilization through turnover
Manage daily subcontractor coordination across multiple concurrent trade packages and work fronts
Drive the project schedule — actively identify and resolve float erosion, sequence conflicts, and critical path threats
Enforce project quality standards and maintain a rigorous punch list and deficiency management process
Champion a zero-incident safety culture; enforce OSHA compliance and site-specific safety plans
Partner with the project team on look-ahead scheduling (3-week, 6-week), RFI tracking, submittal coordination, and change management
Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and site documentation
Coordinate with owner representatives, inspectors, and local AHJs
QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of field superintendent experience on large-scale commercial or industrial ground-up construction
Strong CSA background required — demonstrated experience managing shell construction, utilities infrastructure (wet/dry utilities, site civil), and ground-up structural scopes
Prior experience on data center, hyperscale, or mission-critical projects strongly preferred
Proven ability to manage large, diverse subcontractor teams across multiple simultaneous work fronts
Proficient with scheduling tools (Primavera P6 or MS Project) and project management platforms (Procore or similar)
OSHA 30 required; additional safety certifications a plus
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to interface effectively with owners, design teams, and trade partners
Must be available to work on-site in Amarillo, TX for the duration of the project; this is a traveling role and per diem is provided to all hires
