Tree Climber / Foreman needed for a well-established tree company in Fairfax Va. almost 50 years in business. Large company of 80 employees or more. Applicant must have at least 5 years of tree climbing / trimming experience. Must have experience operating a bucket truck that requires a CDL license. Run a crew of at least 4.

The crew foreman responsibility includes managing all tree care operations and crew safety. The foreman shall fully read the accepted job estimates and coordinate with the salesman and customer when necessary. A job site analysis and hazard assessment shall be completed on each job. The foreman’s role is to manage each job effectively, explain tasks step by step, job setup and identify hazards, and see job to safe and efficient completion. Communication with customers is critical in succession. The crew foreman is to manage all paperwork daily including customer bills and job details. Keep all equipment clean, fueled up, and truck dumped daily. Report all damage to manager or breakdowns to shop supervisor.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license required (CDL a plus).
  • Willingness to obtain additional certifications or training as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work.
  • Frequent lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and on uneven terrain.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
  • Exposure to dust, pollen, insects, and uneven terrain.
  • Regular use of PPE, including gloves, eye protection, respirators, and protective clothing.
  • Work involves handling chemicals, operating trucks and equipment, and working near public areas.
  • Noise levels vary depending on equipment use.
  • Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends based on operational needs.
  • Ability to work independently is required.
