Role Description

Western Monmouth Utilities Authority is seeking a full-time Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to oversee the daily operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.

Responsibilities include managing treatment processes, monitoring equipment operations, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Operators will also perform routine and preventative maintenance on plant systems and pump stations. This is an on-site role located in Monmouth County, NJ, requiring hands-on engagement with the facility's operations.

Qualifications

· Experience in Plant Operations and Process Control, including the ability to monitor, analyze, and adjust various plant systems for optimal performance.

· Proficiency in Wastewater Treatment processes, with a strong understanding of environmental compliance and proper handling of materials and equipment.

· Knowledge of Pump Station Operations, including maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components.

· Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.

· Relevant certifications or licenses in wastewater treatment operations are highly desirable and may be required by state regulations.

· CDL Class B with Tanker Endorsement License.

· Basic knowledge of safety practices and regulations in wastewater treatment facilities.

· High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or relevant coursework is a plus.

· Must be able to work on-site in Monmouth County, NJ, and perform physical tasks as needed including the ability to safely lift 75 pounds and be available for overtime.

Weekends and overnights are a must.

Pay: $39.71 - $40.90 per hour
