Job Description
Position: General Setup Operator - Assembly/Spotweld Shift : 7 :00am to 3:30pm, M-F Wage: $19-$20.00/hour JOB SUMMARY: The General Set-Up & Operator (Flex 1) is responsible for performing routine and complex setup and operation of assembly, spot welding, and related manufacturing equipment. This role works closely with technicians and group leaders to follow work instructions, support production requirements, and develop advanced technical skills. The position involves cross-training on additional departmental equipment and processes to build multiple operator competencies, demonstrating the ability to train in at least one functional area, and preparing for advancement to the technician level. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Maintain safe work environment (i.e., use of personal protective equipment, proper lifting techniques, etc.). Has some knowledge and inspection practice to ensure conformance to quality specifications. Inform management or lead of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem. Start up and stop equipment. Knowledge of the tools, instrumentation, and calibration equipment. Clean production area (sweep, mop, and remove debris). Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies. Feed or place items onto equipment for processing. Ensure conformance to specifications. Mark parts for identification. Place equipment on conveyor belt for further processing. Scrape waste material from machine. Understanding of gauges. Record data. Use Epicor ERP to log into and out of jobs. Take instructions from management and lead person. Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste. Work from routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, blueprints, visual aids, or other instructions to manufacture product at required quality levels. Assemble components accurately, thoroughly, and quickly to approved specifications. Assist in training new employees.
