JobID: 3534 Position Type: Internal/Internal Date Posted: 5/8/2026 Location: District Office Date Available: 05/28/2026 TITLE: Summer School Bus Driver CLASSIFICATION: Classified Hourly REPORTS TO: Summer School Assistant Principal / Summer School Principal SUMMARY: The driver will transport children for school purposes in a safe and efficient manner PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Obey all traffic laws, Arizona Department of Transportation rules and Roosevelt School District policies and procedures and observe all mandatory safety regulations. Transport only authorized students on assigned routes, to and from school. Comply with mandatory safety regulations by inspecting the van before each operation for mechanical defects and notifying the proper authority of any mechanical failure. Ensure van cleanliness, both inside and outside. Check the van after each run for lost items and/or damage. Maintain discipline and supervision while transporting only authorized students, report undisciplined students to the proper authority and pickup and discharge only at authorized stops. Inform students about safety requirements. Report verbally all accidents immediately and follow-up with a written report within 24 hours. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalency preferred; not required, Position may be offered at preceding level to individuals without a HS Diploma/GED. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS Valid Arizona Driver's License, CDL preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS The working environment is primarily a school van/bus operating in all weather extremes and includes exposure to vehicular traffic, vehicle fumes and odors, noise and vibrations. TERMS OF EMPLOYEMENT Temporary Summer - starts 5/28/26 – 6/25/26 Monday – Thursday
