Job Description
Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and essential patient care. As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) on the float pool, you will work under the guidance of licensed nurses to support patients' daily needs and contribute to a safe, healing environment. General Summary Under the supervision of an RN, LPN, or shift manager, the PCA delivers direct patient care, ensuring safety and comfort throughout each shift. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and timely communication of patient condition changes. Perform basic care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility activities. Collaborate closely with nursing staff to meet patient needs promptly and enhance their overall experience. Accurately document all care activities to support clinical decision-making and team communication. Effectively communicate relevant patient information to healthcare team members to improve outcomes and quality of care. Education High school diploma or GED is preferred. Experience One year of experience in a similar role is preferred. Certification and Licenses Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential through the state is preferred. Candidates without certification or with less than one year of experience must complete a PCA training academy. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 90 days of employment; training is provided. Mental and Physical Requirements This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and rea
