Description Lipscomb Academy's Academic Support Program is looking for qualified and experienced tutors to provide in-person tutoring to students. Opportunities are available for all subjects and grade levels. For current Lipscomb University students. May be federal work study eligible. Job Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and/or small-group instruction Contribute to student learning, growth, and advancement Demonstrate academic competence in the subject area(s) and knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice Facilitate problem-solving and critical thinking skills Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Collaborate effectively with students, parents, faculty, and staff to increase student performance Ability to interact positively and professionally with students, faculty, and staff in a professional manner Manage student records electronically Maintain confidentiality of student records Qualifications Behaviors Enthusiastic - Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interest Detail Oriented - Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well Dedicated - Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity Motivations Self-Starter - Inspired to perform without outside help Flexibility - Inspired to perform well when granted the ability to set your own schedule and goals Ability to Make an Impact - Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization Education Bachelors (preferred) Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
