Job Description
Position Purpose The Account Manager opportunity with PGL is designed for an industry expert who is ready to lead the account management team responsible for servicing and developing our most dynamic and high-profile customers. The Account Manager will also focus on working with various stakeholders of the customer, including managers, supply chain executives, etc., and ensuring management of complete contract logistics solutions provided to customer and being proactive in managing production. Tasks Defining and documenting processes and procedures to meet/exceed client specifications Training staff on proper execution of standard operating procedures Creating and executing continuous improvement endeavors Align real time planning with communication to clients as well as the internal team Engineer custom solutions for ever changing industry demands Troubleshooting system errors and implement controls to prevent/identify errors proactively Customizing fulfillment solutions to match the needs of our clients Organizing requests and open action items to confirm execution and provide timely notifications to clients Managing internal resources to execute requests effectively Manage and coordinate delivery to customer’s stores in the local market Manage inventory and cycle count processes Responsible for daily KPI management and daily communication with the customer Qualifications Experience Prior supervisory/management experience in logistics and fulfillment operations Inventory and production planning management experience Multi facility warehouse management experience Experience in managing API/EDI integration endeavors Skilled in using sophisticated warehouse management system (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS) Ideally experienced in system changeover/conversion/new system adoption Education (some Or All Of The Following) Bachelor’s degree in logistics/supply chain preferred Business degree in management Industry specific certifications/credentials Process Expertise, including 6-Sigma certification Knowledge Transportation — Knowledge of principles and methods for moving freight or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits. Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Public Safety and Security — Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
