Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing bookkeeping tasks, and supporting various accounting functions to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your expertise will help drive the financial health of our organization and support strategic decision-making through precise data management and reporting. Duties Perform daily bookkeeping activities, including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliation using accounting software QuickBooks online in a non-profit environment. Manage accounts payable, receivable, revenue and expense processes to ensure timely payments and collections and tracking within various programs and classes. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and account analysis to maintain financial accuracy. Prepare financial statements in accordance with company standards. Oversee payroll management using systems like ADP, Paychex, process payroll transactions accurately and on schedule. Support tax preparation activities by maintaining detailed records of transactions and assisting with tax filings when necessary. Assist with non-profit accounting practices as applicable. Perform audit support tasks including documentation collection, audit trail maintenance, and internal control reviews. Utilize various software platforms to streamline processes such as Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel and other software tools for efficient data management. Experience Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles within corporate or non-profit settings. Strong knowledge of financial concepts, and technical accounting principles. Hands-on experience with multiple accounting software solutions including QuickBooks. Familiarity with payroll management systems like Paychex is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping accurately. Excellent math skills with high attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is a plus. Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
