Accounting And Tax Manager Location: On-Site | Yuma, AZ (relocation assistance available) Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire Our client is a privately held, multi-entity enterprise with thriving operations in land development, commercial holdings, and production agriculture. They are investing heavily in upgraded tax strategy capabilities to support ongoing expansion and diversification. This position gives you immediate ownership of the entire tax function, plus a direct voice in shaping broader accounting policy for a business that prizes close-knit culture, long-term stability, and forward-thinking growth. Key Responsibilities Direct all federal, state, and local tax filings (income, sales, property, excise) for a portfolio of pass-through and corporate entities. Lead entity-level planning for trusts, nonprofit initiatives, and future foundation work. Design multi-year tax-efficiency roadmaps covering succession, deferred compensation, and capital transactions. Partner with the Accounting Manager on month-end close, GL integrity, and cost/project accounting across real estate, construction, and agricultural lines. Prepare consolidated reporting packages and variance analyses for executive review. Provide quantitative support for M&A due diligence, litigation prep, audits, and entity structuring. Identify and deliver process-improvement initiatives that streamline data flow between tax and accounting. Collaborate closely with senior finance leadership to capture institutional knowledge and progressively assume expanded duties. Mentor a seasoned five-person accounting team, fostering professional growth and cross-training. Qualifications Active CPA license (required). 5+ years of heavy tax experience in public accounting or sophisticated corporate environments. Expertise in pass-through entity taxation (Forms 1065 & 1120-S); exposure to C-corp and trust returns a plus. Industry background in construction, real estate, agriculture, or other asset-intensive, multi-entity settings. Track record balancing tax leadership with hands-on accounting or project-based finance work. Full-time on-site presence in Yuma, Arizona; regional ties or genuine interest in relocation highly preferred. Preferred Experience with estate planning, deferred-comp programs, or philanthropic structures. Strong analytical aptitude, clear communication style, and comfort interfacing with ownership groups.
