Accounting Manager ABB is looking for a motivated, talented Accounting Manager to join our finance team. This person, who we expect to be technologically skilled with strong analytic skills, will assist the Controller with the management of the accounting, technical accounting issues, assistance in the preparation of the financial statements, and policies/internal controls, audit. This position will report into the Controller. Essential Functions Oversee accounting records, ledgers, and GAAP reporting processes on various aspects of the consolidated business, Assist the Controller in managing the monthly close process, including analysis and work to reduce the timeline for the close process, Manage, and develop, a staff of accounting professionals, Research accounting issues and ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards, Assist in managing the annual audit with our audit firm, Prepare necessary ad hoc reporting required by management, Coordinate with and prepare reports for the CFO, other management and internal customers, Preparing process documentation and evaluating existing processes for improvement, Assessing and developing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas, Work closely across various functions, particularly with FP&A, Leading more complex accounting projects and initiatives including purchase accounting & new GAAP pronouncements with other members of the accounting and finance team, Core Competencies: Technical Accounting experience and knowledge Process Management: Excellent at figuring out the processes required to get things done, understands efficient workflows, and is skilled at identifying and implementing improvements, Drive for Results: Exceeds goals successfully, constantly and consistently and pushes themselves to be a top performer, Accounting Team Manager Experience: strong leader that gives clear direction and mentors direct reports, Action Oriented: Enjoys working hard, full of energy for new challenges and seizes opportunities as they become apparent, Attention to Detail: Highly organized and makes sure all details are covered, Priority Setting: Strong understanding of time/bandwidth for themselves and others, eliminates roadblocks and creates focus, Organizing: Can marshal resources to get things done, works across functions and is resourceful in accomplishing goals. Requirements: CPA, Strong technical accounting skills Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, 6+ years of total experience obtained in a Big 4 or second-tier public accounting firm (minimum 4+ years requirement) with remaining experience, if any, in a sophisticated corporate environment Strong GAAP financial reporting experience, Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel, Other: Ability to collaborate in both a virtual and in-person setting. For U.S. Candidates Compensation Range The anticipated base salary range for this position is $78,000 to $130,000 annually. This represents the good-faith estimate of the compensation range at the time of posting. Actual pay will be based on job-related factors, which may include: Geographic location Relevant experience Education and qualifications Job-related skills Internal equity considerations Applicable minimum wage laws This position may also be eligible for a bonus and/or commission plan, subject to the terms of the applicable plan.
