LHH Recruitment Solutions is assisting our Morris County, NJ based client in their search for an Accounting Manager on a consulting basis. Candidates in the tri state area will be considered and the amount of days onsite will depend on the driving distance. Job Responsibilities Oversee key accounting operations and support the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. Manage aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity. Partner with shared services teams on accounts payable, operating expenses, allocations, and expense reporting. Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to operating expenses and provide variance analysis for management reporting. Maintain accounting for accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, banking activity, and collateral arrangements. Assist with internal and external financial reporting, audit support, SOX compliance, and internal control processes. Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Technical Accounting, and business stakeholders on accounting and reporting matters. Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and ERP system enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal control standards. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting experience preferred. Insurance or reinsurance industry experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience supporting audits, SOX compliance, and regulatory reporting activities. Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Workday. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset and focus on continuous improvement.
