We are a CLARK Forklift dealer with a focus on sales and service, equipment rental, and mission-critical facilities maintenance for clients that include military, government, and commercial operations across Southern California. We operate by five guiding principles — and we mean them: Treat people the way we want to be treated — hold each other accountable with respect Safety first in all that we do — everyone’s responsibility, every day Our customers are our #1 mission — open, transparent, and reliable from first contact through payment Our employees are our #1 resource — together, we win Always Curious: we are a learning organization —complacency is the enemy of progress If you're someone who takes ownership, shows up with integrity, and does the little things right because you know that's what makes the big things work — you'll fit here. ABOUT THE ROLE As Accounting Manager, you are the financial backbone of E&E. This is a hands-on leadership role — you won't just oversee, you'll do. You'll own the day-to-day accounting function, lead the AR Specialist, build the processes that keep our books clean and our reporting sharp, and give company leadership the clear financial picture needed to make sound decisions in a growing government-contracting and commercial services business. This role reports directly to the President/Owner. You'll have real authority and real accountability — and the support of leadership that values your expertise and your honesty. WHAT YOU'LL DO Own all core accounting operations — AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger — with accuracy and consistency Lead and support the AR Specialist with clear direction, feedback, and professional development Build and document accounting processes as written SOPs; identify and close gaps in internal controls Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) to leadership on time Process payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees Ensure government invoicing (WAWF or applicable portal) is submitted in compliance with contract terms and FAR/DFARS requirements Track costs at the project and contract level; support profitability analysis Coordinate with the external CPA on tax filing preparation and audit support Maintain clean, reconciled books — no unreconciled accounts older than 30 days Proactively surface financial risks, opportunities, and recommendations to ownership — with data to back it up WHO YOU ARE You're a steady, process-driven accounting professional who leads through competence and character. You build reliable systems, communicate financial information clearly to people who aren't accountants, and you don't wait to be asked — you spot the problem before it becomes a fire. You'll thrive here if you: Lead by example — your team trusts you because you know the work and you do the work Build processes that outlast you — you document, systematize, and improve Communicate with clarity and confidence to non-financial audiences Hold yourself to a high standard because you take pride in your craft Understand that in a government-contracting environment, compliance and documentation are mission-critical — not optional Want to be part of something growing — and want to help build the foundation it grows on QUALIFICATIONS Required 3+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of core accounting functions (AP, AR, payroll, financial reporting) Proven ability to lead, build processes, and establish internal controls — not just execute tasks Proficiency in QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, or comparable accounting software Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices Clear written and verbal communication — ability to present financials to non-financial stakeholders Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills Must be eligible to work in the United States; must be able to pass a background check
