Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to support and help oversee day-to-day accounting operations, cash management, and financial reporting across multiple entities. This role combines strong technical accounting responsibilities with oversight of core accounting processes and support of the broader accounting function. The ideal candidate will bring general ledger expertise, sound judgment, and a practical, detail-oriented approach, with the ability to contribute both strategically and in execution. This role will also support tax matters on an as-needed basis and partner on process improvements, compliance, and special projects. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Operations Support and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and month-end close. Prepare and review journal entries, financial statements, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Manage cash-related accounting functions, including cash activity monitoring, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions. Review balance sheet and income statement accounts; investigate and resolve variances. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed. Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Functional Oversight & Process Management Help coordinate and oversee core accounting workflows to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency. Support prioritization, issue resolution, and continuous improvement across accounting processes. Partner with leadership on process enhancements, special projects, and operational initiatives. Tax & Compliance Support Assist with gathering information and maintaining support for federal and state tax compliance, including partnership, S corporation, and trust reporting. Coordinate with internal tax personnel and external advisors on filings, workpapers, and related support. Support audits and maintain organized, audit-ready records and documentation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred but not required) 7+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong general ledger and operational accounting experience required Experience with cash management and multi-entity accounting preferred Prior experience overseeing accounting processes or supervising staff preferred Working knowledge of tax compliance processes and supporting documentation Proficiency with accounting software; QuickBooks experience preferred Strong Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year Benefits Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Ability to Commute: Columbus, OH 43219 (Required) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Columbus, OH 43219
