The Role We're seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our finance operations team. You'll oversee a distributed team of staff and senior accountants across our U.S. and Philippines offices, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement in our accounting processes. This is a technical leadership role where deep accounting knowledge meets data systems expertise — you'll build the infrastructure and quality controls that allow our team to scale. Working directly with our Controller, you'll be responsible for developing audit trails, implementing review processes, and leveraging technology to automate and optimize workflows. A key aspect of this role is your ability to understand new businesses and investment structures as they enter our portfolio, then design and implement the accounting processes, controls, and systems needed to properly record and report their financial activity. A core part of this role is the ability to understand how a business actually operates and build the appropriate accounting processes, controls, and systems around those operations. What You'll Do Team Leadership Manage and develop a team of staff and senior accountants across U.S. and offshore locations Establish clear processes, workflows, and accountability systems Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship Foster a culture of accuracy, continuous improvement, and professional growth Process Design & Implementation Assess the operations and business models of newly acquired entities or investments Design tailored accounting processes, chart of accounts structures, and workflows for new portfolio companies Build scalable systems that accommodate the unique characteristics of each business while maintaining consistency across the portfolio Translate complex business operations into appropriate accounting treatments and controls Create documentation and training materials to onboard new entities into our accounting framework Process & Quality Control Design and implement audit processes to ensure data integrity across all accounting functions Build multi-layered review workflows to catch errors before they reach financial statements Develop standard operating procedures and documentation for all accounting processes Identify process inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve speed and accuracy Technical Accounting & Systems Oversee month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations across multiple entities Ensure proper recording and reporting for complex investment structures Write SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate financial data from NetSuite and other systems Partner with IT and operations teams to integrate accounting systems and automate workflows Leverage AI and automation tools to reduce manual work and improve data quality Financial Reporting & Collaboration Support the Controller in producing accurate and timely financial statements Collaborate with investment, tax, and operations teams on cross-functional projects Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects as the firm continues to grow What You Bring Required: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP, consolidations, multi-entity structures) Demonstrated ability to analyze how a business operates and design end-to-end accounting processes, workflows, and controls that accurately reflect the underlying economic activity of the entity from the ground up Experience building accounting frameworks for new entities, acquisitions, or diverse business models Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, analysis, and v
