**Job Summary: ** The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial operations by performing a variety of day-to-day accounting tasks. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. The position plays a key role in ensuring data accuracy, supporting compliance requirements, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting function. Key Responsibilities: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Reconcile bank statements and resolve financial discrepancies Prepare and issue weekly check payments Assist with past-due collections and follow-up activities Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reports Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including trackers and spreadsheets Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes Provide support during audits and assist with compliance documentation Prepare and submit tax filings and other required regulatory reports Minimum Education & Experience Requirements Associate degree in Accounting or a related field required Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role Special Requirements Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Effective written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and accuracy Additional Details FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Accounting Salary Range: $46,000 – $55,000 annually Benefits 401(k) Health, dental, and vision insurance Life and disability insurance Paid time off Work Environment This position operates in an in-person office setting within a bullpen-style workspace.
