Job Description
Vincentian Independent Living, encompassing Terrace Place and The Villa in McCandless, Pittsburgh, PA, is looking for a Activity Aide/Community Life Team Member and Driver to add to our team! Summary: The Community Life Team Member and Driver is instrumental in the success of Vincentian’s Community Life Department. They will assist with the coordination of daily operations of the department by implementing quality programs, one-to-one visits and sensory/environmental stimulation, engaging intergenerational programs and spaces (intentional and organic) for residents, children, students, families, staff and visitors within the personal care, independent living, long-term or skilled rehabilitation service lines. The Community Life Team Member must be devoted to delivering the highest quality of services with the goal of enhancing the quality of each resident’s life, encouraging an active, healthy, and engaging lifestyle, and the eight dimensions of wellness to ensure programmatic success. The Community Life Team Member will be technology-savvy, with an interest in researching and identifying technology-based solutions for individual and community engagement and process improvement. The Community Life Team Member must be dynamic, committed to excellence, and passionate about creating memorable experiences. It is the duty of all employees to promote and support a resident centered care environment that ensures the treatment of all residents, family members, visitors, fellow employees and customers with kindness, respect, and dignity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Commits to the Vincentian Collaborative System (VCS) mission to nurture and sustain a ministry of compassionate care that preserves the human dignity of persons within a diverse and changing society. Upholds and promote the VCS values of spirituality, compassion, quality, dignity, collaboration, advocacy, stewardship and innovation. Promotes and supports a resident centered care environment that ensures the treatment of all residents, family members, visitors, fellow employees and customers with kindness, respect, and dignity. Assist with the execution of memorable programs, experiences and activities for individuals and groups that encourage socialization, foster social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, sensory, and physical enrichment and promotes lifelong learning amongst our residents. Incorporate the eight dimensions of wellness and intergenerational practices into all experiences. Ensures the implementation, and evaluation of all programming, processes, and delivery of service excellence that aligns with organizational strategy and mission Provides five-star quality, superior service and extraordinary responsiveness as perceived by our residents and families, ensuring resident satisfaction levels are achieved, while cultivating meaningful relationships and connections Operates independently and with teams, demonstrates superior attention to detail, and shows compassion with all interactions and decision-making. Assists with operational needs, i.e., transports/assists residents to and from activities as necessary, facility management, etc. In a long term care facility identifies and documents in the resident’s care plan the activity interests, needs and related problem of the resident. In a long term care facility documents all interactions with resident and/or family in the assessment and care plan as required by state standards. Adheres to all current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, regulations and the facilities established policies and procedures. Observes and reports pertinent information related to resident care to Manager of Community Life. Maintains neatness of all activity areas including proper storage of materials on the communities, activity storage room and infection control of activity supplies. Communicates effectively with residents, family members, volunteers, and other members of the health care team. Attends required department meetings, educational programs and complete all required DOH and Vincentian training. Assists with training and supervision of new personnel and volunteers, as assigned Operates vehicles in a safe, responsible and courteous manner. Adheres to all traffic laws and follows all safety guidelines for proper operations. Assists residents getting in and out of vehicles as needed, escorts residents upon request. Performs all other duties assigned. Education/Experience: High school graduate or equivalent, required. NCCAP Activity Aide Certified or certified eligible Previous experience in activities/life enrichment, preferred. Back
