This role supports resident well-being by encouraging participation, fostering social connection, and creating meaningful experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with planning and leading scheduled resident activities Encourage resident participation while respecting individual preferences and abilities Support activities in Memory Care as appropriate Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members Monitor resident behavior and report changes to nursing staff Maintain a clean, safe, and organized activity environment Follow all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Report safety concerns, incidents, or suspected abuse immediately Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 1+ year of experience in activities, senior care, or a related field Activity-related education preferred Required certifications (upon hire or within designated timeframe): Food Handler permit (within 14 days) CPR & First Aid (within 30 days) Dementia & Mental Health Training (within 90 days) Fundamentals of Caregiving Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a clean driving record Skills & Abilities Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills Comfortable assisting residents with mobility and daily engagement Creativity in arts, crafts, music, or group activities preferred Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift We maintain a strong policy of Equal Employment Opportunity for all associates.
