Job Description
A Family Law Firm, Inc. is a small, well-established family law practice located in downtown Santa Rosa. We have proudly served families throughout Sonoma County for over 29 years. Our practice includes litigation, mediation, divorce, custody matters, guardianships, and stepparent adoptions. We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and personable Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced office environment, and is interested in long-term professional growth within the legal field. Legal experience is helpful but not required. This is an in-person position. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. About the Position The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple tasks at once. Strong communication and client service skills are essential, as this role involves regular contact with clients, courts, attorneys, and support staff. Reliable transportation is required for occasional court filings and office-related errands. Responsibilities Include Answering phones and assisting with client communications Assisting with general office upkeep and maintenance, including keeping common areas organized, clean and stocked with supplies, and presentable, as well as handling light office tasks such as taking out trash cans to curbside one a week and maintaining overall office cleanliness Scheduling mediations, settlement conferences, court dates, and appointments Preparing reminders and maintaining attorney calendars Setting up and maintaining client files Assisting with document organization and administrative support projects Assisting with trial and mediation preparation, including binders and exhibits Court runs and filing assistance Formatting and proofreading correspondence and documents Assisting with discovery processing, printing, scanning, and organization Redacting documents and assisting with financial and bank statement projects Supporting attorneys and staff with miscellaneous administrative projects Qualifications Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent communication and client service abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license Prior office experience preferred Legal office experience is a plus, but not required Why Work for A Family Law Firm?
