JOB Non-exempt; full-time; 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.; full-benefitsThe Frederick County Office of Agriculture is dedicated to preserving farmland through conservation easements, supporting agricultural operations with business support and technical assistance, and promoting local farms through initiatives like Homegrown Frederick, ensuring a vibrant and diverse agricultural community. The Office of Agriculture is looking for a detail-oriented, pro-active, Administrative Coordinator that is interested in supporting Frederick County Agriculture. This position will coordinate workflow for the Office of Agriculture and provide administrative, and fiscal support. NOTE: The upper pay range reflects possible wage rates for internal County transfers and promotions, which are calculated per County policy. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Manage and oversee the office’s day-to-day workflow and operations to ensure the Office is running smoothly, effectively, and efficientlyPerform administrative functions for the officeCompose, prepare, proofread, and sign correspondence, memorandums, and statistics; as needed, review and analyze data and statistics Research, prioritize, and follow up on incoming issues and concerns; determine the appropriate course of action, referral, or responseUtilize the automated procurement system to prepare purchase orders, check requests, expense reports and other fiscal actions as needed, prepare and secure request for quotesOversee, monitor and maintain office supply and printed material inventories Manage a variety of special projects and events for the Director; maintain, track and follow up on projects from beginning to end; ensure project deadlines are metServe as the administrative liaison to the Agricultural Business Council and Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board by assisting board members with correspondence and meeting planningComply with applicable rules and regulations set by board matters, which includes advance distribution of materials before meetings in electronic/paper formatAssist with preparing and monitoring office and program budgets and producing reports; verify account numbers and/or accounting units for accuracyCoordinate appointments for the director and attend meetings as requested by the directorProcess and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail for the Office of Agriculture; review and respond to incoming mail Coordinate on-boarding of new hires for the department; serve as liaison with the County's Division of Human ResourcesAssist management team in coordinating and carrying out department, division, and county goals and activitiesAssist the Director with the preparation of the annual operating budget and various periodic reportsAssist in creating and maintaining operational, reference, and fiscal files (using manual and computerized files and filling systems); provide data for r
