If you want to use your skills to build a healthier, more resilient community, we encourage you to apply.This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Oconee County Clinic, 115 Carter Park Drive, Seneca, SC 29678.As an Administrative Specialist II, under general supervision, you will perform duties of an Administrative Specialist at the Oconee Clinic of the Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Mental Health Center.Responsibilities for the Administrative Specialist II: Perform duties and responsibilities in completing all required administrative paperwork for all new and returning patients. Ensure the accurate and timely initiation of patient data. Complete financial assessments and verifies insurance, Medicare and Medicaid coverage on all patients.Publish and distribute patient staffing report weekly to Center’s staff. Complete patient appointment letters requested by clinicians within required time frame.Review and processes all paperwork from outside consultants and forwards documentation to Medical Records.Ensure the accurate inventory of forms and supplies for the Patient Information Office. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES A high school diploma and two years of clerical experience, or an associate degree in secretarial science or other related field; or three years clerical experience. Additional RequirementsThis position requires the ability to bend, stoop, climb, drive from location to location, lift and file. This position could be considered essential. Therefore, the employee in this position may be asked to report to work even if the Center is closed in the event of an emergency. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Post hire, employees must: Knowledge of word processing centers and/or current office management practices.Knowledge of grammatical rules, clerical formats and/or journalistic principles. Knowledge of behavioral characteristics of the physically or mentally challenged.Knowledge of basic training principles and techniques. Knowledge of methods and procedures of microfilm photography.Knowledge of medical terminology and classification.Knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures. Ability to deal effectively with the public in handling inquiries and communicating information.Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
