About The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at Widener University's Delaware Law School. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, this role is vital in supporting the academic operations and faculty needs of the law school. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative and operational assistance to ensure the smooth functioning of academic programs, facilitate effective communication between faculty and students, and support initiatives aimed at student achievement and bar exam readiness. This position requires a proactive individual capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently, demonstrating excellent organizational skills, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced academic environment. Qualifications Associate's degree or higher education qualification Minimum of two (2) years of administrative support experience in a busy office environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong organizational, multitasking, and attention to detail skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion Flexibility to work occasional evening hours and participate in events outside standard hours Willingness to learn new technology systems, including student information and learning management systems Experience in customer service or higher education is preferred Experience working with law students is a plus Responsibilities Assist faculty with exam preparation, course materials, book orders, photocopying, and correspondence Support the dissemination of academic documents, flyers, and promotional materials Manage faculty and department calendars, schedule appointments, coordinate meetings, and prepare minutes Greet visitors, answer inquiries, and direct individuals to appropriate offices or resources Help coordinate course schedules, curriculum updates, and student evaluations Act as the primary point of contact for students seeking academic assistance or information Support onboarding processes for new adjunct and full-time faculty, including maintaining faculty files and tracking contracts and evaluations Maintain inventory of office supplies and manage equipment and student database systems Collaborate with faculty and administrators to monitor office and program expenses and maintain financial records Support high-volume printing, duplication projects, and vendor coordination as backup to the Copy Center Coordinator Assist with routine administrative tasks that promote the academic mission of the law school Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans Retirement savings plan options Paid time off and holiday leave Professional development opportunities Flexible work arrangements, including potential hybrid or remote work options Supportive and inclusive work environment emphasizing diversity and equity Equal Opportunity Widener University is an equal opportunity employer.
