Job Description
Admission Record Specialist Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Admission Record Specialist to manage the accurate collection, review, and maintenance of client admission documentation.This role ensures that all records are complete, compliant, and properly entered into the system while supporting billing, coding, and medical records processes.Key Responsibilities o Review and process admission documentation for accuracy and completeness o Maintain organized and confidential medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations o Verify demographic, insurance, and authorization information at intake o Enter and update data within electronic health record (EHR) systems o Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure timely documentation flow o Support billing processes by confirming documentation required for claims submission o Apply appropriate coding knowledge to ensure alignment between services, records, and billing o Monitor records for compliance with organizational, state, and federal guidelines o Assist with audits, record requests, and quality assurance reviews o Resolve discrepancies in documentation, insurance verification, or coding information Qualifications o Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical records, medical billing, and/or coding required o Knowledge of healthcare documentation standards and compliance requirements o Familiarity with CPT, ICD, and HCPCS coding processes preferred o Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems o Strong attention to detail and organizational skills o Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information o Effective communication and ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams o Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems Core Skills o Medical Records Management o Billing and Coding Coordination o Insurance Verification o Data Accuracy and Quality Control o Regulatory Compliance (HIPAA) o Time Management and Multitasking o Problem-Solving and Documentation Review o Strong Written and Verbal Communication Experience Requirement At least two (2) years of hands-on experience in a healthcare setting performing duties related to medical records management, billing, and coding.Job Type:Full-time Pay:$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Benefits:Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Work Location:In person.
