Job Description
Job Title: Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Facilitator Retirees of the Texas Teachers Retirement System (TRS) may apply. Consistent with district policy SD-7.17 “Employment of Retirees,” selected applicants are responsible for reimbursing the district, through payroll deduction, for the current rate of all TRS pension or TRS Care surcharges. As of September 1, 2025, the TRS pension surcharge rate is 16.5% and the TRS Care surcharge is $535/month. Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Pay Group: T-21 (Based on Experience) Salary Plan Primary Purpose: The ARD Facilitator is responsible for coordination, planning and preparation of compliance documents for students eligible for Special Education services. The ARD Facilitator is responsible for chairing or co-chairing ARD meetings for multiple campuses. Qualifications Education/Certification/Experience: Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE) with major course work in Special Education preferred. Three years full-time, wage-earning teaching experience to include teaching disabled and other students with diverse learning needs. Valid Texas teaching certificate in the area of Special Education. Experience with computer-based documentation system preferred. This position requires personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely. Special Knowledge/Skills: Skill to develop and implement curriculum to meet individual learning and behavioral needs. Knowledge of instructional materials, technology, and evaluation methods. Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Skill in the use of computers and computer software to include email, internet, word processing and spreadsheets. Skill to work in a collaborative environment. Skill to present information to diverse populations of students, parents, and education staff. Ability to exercise good judgement in decision making, especially in difficult circumstances. Advanced knowledge of federal and state law governing special education. Knowledge of compliance and best practices for individualized services for students with disabilities. Advanced knowledge of the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process. Knowledge of the development and implementation of the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process. Knowledge of and compliance with transition. Skill to effectively interpret policy, procedures, and student data such as diagnostic test results, state assessments coring, transcripts, and grade point average. Ability to transition with district/unit/department changes. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Schedule, or assist in scheduling ARD meetings. Notify all parties of ARD meetings, distribute ARD calendar to appropriate ARD Committee members; ensure Individual Transition Plan elements are completed as applicable; and communicate ARD schedule changes to all appropriates school personnel. Ensure federal and state timelines are met with respect to functions of ARD Committee meetings. Request additional assessments and meet required timelines as set by the ARD Committee. Compete and submit ARD paperwork to official audit file within 72 hours of the meeting. Complete lists, forms, reports, and data required by the Special Education Office by due dates. Maintain referral lists, and communication with assessments, service providers, and related personnel. Provide systematic communication among special and general education personnel. Perform other duties as assigned. Policy, Reports, and Law: Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties. Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at location of work assignment. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.
