POSITION OVERVIEW Assist the college in achieving its enrollment goals within a results-oriented environment through ethical representation of Dunwoody’s academic programs. Implement a proactive approach for initiating and maintaining contact with potential students and follow established department procedures to achieve optimum conversion from initial student inquiry to eventual enrollment. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS · Represent Dunwoody both on- and off-campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Help to plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned high schools and territories. · Counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities at Dunwoody. One-on-one admissions counseling with diverse populations is an important responsibility of this position. Admissions counseling occurs primarily by in-person appointments, phone calls and emails. Review and score application essays and other materials submitted by applicants for the purposes of making admission decisions. · Coordinate and contribute to the success of various student visit programs designed to recruit targeted prospective applicants to the University. These programs require significant collaboration with other departments and offices across campus. · Assist in the development and delivery of on-campus events and programs for counseling groups and individuals.. · Develop and maintain professional relationships with high schools and community agencies in order to build a strong pool of prospects and applicants through active recruiting. · Attend college/career fairs and events as representative of Dunwoody. · Attend school-wide marketing events as way of promoting Dunwoody to prospective students. · Provide favorable representation of Dunwoody programs and services to potential student applicants through knowledge of offered programs and college culture. · Initiate and maintain contact and correspondence with student applicants as needed throughout the enrollment process. · Work closely with students and other Dunwoody departments to ensure any issues related to enrollment, financial aid, and placement are properly resolved. · Maintain accurate and detailed records on recruiting activities as outlined by established department procedures. · Help plan, organize and execute successful evening, on-campus recruiting events for prospective students. · Attend trade and industry shows with faculty as needed. · Foster a positive and customer-service oriented environment within and between departments of the college. Essential Job Functions: · Ability to work 40 hours per week. · Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access. · Ability to learn new computer programs and database management systems and demonstrate proficiency given adequate training. · Ability to analyze and interpret data. · Ability to think critically and strategically to develop new strategies and goals. · Ability to talk on the phone. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, potential employers and/or other external constituents. · Ability to communicate difficult messages in a professional manner. · Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines. · Must be goal and team oriented to build positive working relationships, and conduct business with attention to ethical considerations, and/or school/accreditation guidelines. · Ability to speak publicly and present information and training material in a cohesive, organized manner. · Ability to maintain confidentiality as required by FERPA regulations. · Ability to work with and communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds and at all levels. · Ability to work independently to source new employment prospects for graduates. · Ability to organize events within deadlines and budgets. · Must have strong organizational skills, exceptional networking skills, and consistently displays the highest levels of integrity. · Ability to work a flexible schedule including select evenings and weekends to meet college business needs. · Must be professional in all aspects of the position including appearance, demeanor, and attitude. · Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations.
