The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Advanced Practice Provider Summary The Neurology Advance Practice Provider shall work Full-Time and perform follow-up visits on existing patients in RWJSM and consults, at all locations in the Hospital, under the supervision of and collaboration with Attending Neurologists, with attestation of the notes by the Attending Neurologists. Their work week will consist of 40 hours per week, with work hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30 min lunch break, with adjustment of the hours in consultation of the Medical Director as needed. The salary, Paid Time Off and Benefits will be commensurate with a Full Time APP according to the System Guideline Responsibilities Neurology Advance Practice Provider’s responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following: Provide continuous care to patients in the inpatient setting with neurological complaints including but not limited to: General Adult Neurology. Neurology Advance Practice Provider (APP) shall be required to provide inpatient services, including but not limited to performing hospital rounds for follow-up visits on existing patients in the Hospital as well as consults, at all locations in the Hospital, under the supervision of and collaboration with Attending Neurologists, with attestation of the Notes by the Attending Neurologists. APP shall answer pages and respond to other forms of communications and be physically available on-site for care coordination during the working hours. APP shall comply with the rules and regulations of the RWJSM medical staff and maintain medical staff membership in good standing. Assist in developing and maintaining a professional and collaborative clinical environment. Contribute to the development and execution of treatment protocols, management plans, and evidence-based treatment standards for general neurology inpatients as well as patients with stroke. Patient care responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following: Evaluate and manage patients with general neurological disorders and stroke. Order neurological tests appropriately with appropriate resource utilization. Prescribe and/or administer necessary treatments and medications. Monitor the physical, behavioral and cognitive adverse effects of treatments and medications. Order supportive care services for patients as deemed necessary. Counsel patients and their families on neurological disorders, their treatments and prognosis. Participate in care coordination with other providers, including but not limited to Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers and Rehabilitation Specialists. Provide education for residents, and APPs and others as directed by RWJSM educational needs. Participate in multidisciplinary quality and patient safety committees and engage in Quality Improvement efforts include Stroke Performance Improvement (PI) Committee meetings as determined by RWJSM leadership and Medical Director. Enter consultation notes, progress notes, orders, and Incident To Billing charges according to medical staff guidelines and complying with standards and billing best practices regarding documentation. There will be a probationary period of 6 months where the APN is expected to shadow and train with Attending Neurologists, including division of work time to include weekends as determined by the Medical Director. Qualifications Required (APN/NP): Current APN Certification Current RN NJ state license CDS DEA Current BLS/ACLS RNFA Certification *exception if Surgical NP certification has surgical assist built into program Required (Physician Assistant) Current Physician Assistant Certification
