Key Responsibilities Design experiments, collect data, analyze results and compile reports in support of AMAT's cutting-edge semiconductor equipment and system Perform hardware trouble shooting and characterization on a variety of process tools to improve performance, and provide clear direction to engineering team for new hardware development Interact with customers to resolve a variety of process and hardware issues/problems with limited supervision Provide leadership, clear direction, and guidance to junior process engineer and process technicians to support execution activities Functional Knowledge Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or related field with 8+ years of experience; or a PhD with 4+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience. Have strong knowledge and working experience in vacuum technology and semiconductor process equipment development Background in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Atomic Layer Etching(ALE), and junction surface cleaning Familiarity with working in a clean room and on semiconductor equipment with experience in surface preparation and analytical techniques Knowledge and experience in Plasma Physics, Reactive Ion Etching (RIE), Atomic Layer Etching (ALE), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), Capacitively Coupled Plasma (CCP) is a plus Business Expertise Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market Leadership Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements Problem Solving Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information Impact Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies Interpersonal Skills Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus Additional Information Time Type: Full time Employee Type: Assignee / Regular Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time Relocation Eligible: YesThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable. For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
