Job Description
The Department of OBGYN is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Professional to support Gynecological Oncology clinical care at the Emily Couric Cancer Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. As part of the position's clinical scope, the APP will provide clinical care to patients with gynecologic cancer and serve as a Sub-Investigator (Sub-I) on clinical trials. This role is part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team engaged in gynecological cancer research. The University of Virginia Gynecology Oncology team is nationally recognized as "high performing" which places us in the top 10% of cancer centers in the nation. In 2025 the program was nationally recognized as the 4th highest accruer (enroller) by NRG Oncology; a consortium of 3 internationally recognized research entities and one of five groups funded by the NCI. Preferred qualifications *Experience: Gynecology and/or Oncology experience preferred, but new graduates welcome to apply. Clinical research experience preferred but not required Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen. 1) Administration Participates within the organizational systems of the service, unit and institution, initiatives that promote and contribute to the development of the APP, RN and other colleagues. Evaluates/augments quality initiatives to benefit quality of care and patient safety. Investigates, utilizes, communicates and participates in the development and utilization of scientific knowledge via research and Evidence-Based Practice. Self-motivated learning, engagement in process improvement and quality improvement initiatives. Evaluates individual clinical practice, role performance via regulatory, state and institutional guidelines. 2) Professional Manages patients
