Job Description
The Zion Guru Outfitter is the ultimate resource for visitors to Zion National Park (ZNP) and its surrounding areas.The Outfitter will help guests and clients have the best possible experience while visiting ZNP.The Outfitter will achieve this goal by providing current and up-to-date information on the conditions of the park including weather, seasonality of visit, trail closures, crowd levels, permits, shuttles, etc.This also may include:food recommendations, parking information, and general park knowledge.The Outfitter will serve as the client's Guru for the Narrows hike and riding eBikes in ZNP.This includes presenting to clients best practices for the Narrows hike, sizing clients for the proper gear and equipment, and ensuring that all safety checks and requirements are met for the eBike rental fleet.These responsibilities may also include other hikes or activities that require specialized gear.Responsibilities and Duties Having a holistic approach to customer service Sizing customers for appropriate footwear, drysuits, wetsuits, etc.Cleaning and restocking rental gear Maintaining rental gear Checking rentals in and out Educating clients on the safe use of eBikes in ZNP Maintaining a clean work environment Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of ZNP and area conditions Being prepared by actively exploring the park Communicating effectively with clients and other Gurus (Outfitters and Guides) Qualifications Beginner to advanced levels of outdoor industry knowledge Strong communication and public speaking skills Basic computer knowledge and email etiquette A valid driver's license, if wanting to participate in providing shuttle services Must be able to sit, stand, and speak for long periods, as well as bend and lift up to 30 lbs.Excellent time management skills Self-motivated Must be able to handle customer interactions in a busy work environment Job Types:Full-time, Part-time, Temporary Pay:$16.00 - $19.00 per hour Benefits:401(k) 401(k) matching Employee discount Application Question(s):Service is an essential part of our work.We strive to provide elevated customer service by actively listening to our guests' wants, identifying their true needs, and determining how we can best meet them.As ambassadors to Zion National Park, we are responsible for serving our clients in an open, educational, and approachable way--helping them have the safest, lowest-impact, and best experience possible.Please describe your most recent experience being of service to others.How do you maintain your enthusiasm for serving others day after day?
