Description:The Aftercare Staff shall prayerfully help students acquire beliefs, attitudes, skills, and knowledge that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians whose lives are devoted to the glory of God.The Aftercare Staff will serve the FCA student population and Administration in various school functions, demonstrating an attitude of service to the glory of God.The Aftercare Staff serves in all activities for grades K-8th.They must keep up to date with school initiatives and maintain a cooperative atmosphere at all times.Scheduled hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, from 2:30 to 6:00 pm.Wednesdays 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm 1.Commit at all times to the safeguarding and protection of children and young people.2.Communicate all disciplinary issues with the Aftercare Director.3.Communicate to students in a student friendly manner.4.Redirect all student behavior in accordance with the Elementary & Secondary Handbook.5.Be present at aftercare staff meetings.6.Use GroupMe effectively to communicate with team members.7.Ensure that their aftercare classrooms are organized, clean, & has supplies as needed.8.Assist in maintaining healthy classroom student/teacher ratios.9.Use Paylocity to record time worked, days off, etc.10.Attend all staff meetings as required.11.Organize various play activities and games.12.Supervise the arrival and departure of students using GroupMe and maintain efficient attendance records.13.Communicate to Director all/any staffing concerns and or disciplinary actions in accordance to school/faculty policies.14.Initiate and maintain parent communication that is clear and concise with direction from the Director.15.Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops as needed.16.Create a welcoming environment where students and staff feel comfortable, respected, and valued.17.Inform Aftercare Director immediately of any serious disciplinary problems.18.Assist in the supervision of afternoon snack as needed.19.Establish and maintain a safe classroom environment.20.Support aftercare program initiatives.21.Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Aftercare Director or Program Coordinator.Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS Active Christian who feels called by God to mentor youth.Possess (or obtain) and maintain current CPR certification.Minimum of 6 months working with children ages K-8 th grade.ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Experience with children in K-8th grade.Strong organizational and administrative background.Strong classroom management skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Great organizational skills.Demonstrates the use of good judgement in decision making.Extremely enthusiastic.Extremely creative in activity structure to best suit student and program needs.Skills in problem solving, collaborative techniques, human interaction, and conflict management.Ability to communicate effectively with leadership and team members..
