Job Description
TITLE: AHS/OMS Choir/Guitar/Music Looking for a qualified, enthusiastic applicant to teach Choir & Guitar classes at Alamosa High School and Ortega Middle School. Other course offerings could be developed based on teacher Definition knowledge, skills, experience and student interest. A staff member responsible for directly delivering the curriculum and providing instruction for students. Qualifications The teacher must be appropriately certified and/or licensed as a teacher in the State of Colorado as provided by law or pursuing Alternative Licensure. Licensed staff must be qualified for the area or grade level in which they perform, meeting Colorado Department of Education accreditation standards. Ready endorsement preferred. Reports To AHS and OMS Building Principals Job Goal To facilitate learning by all students, in a standards-based classroom and other educational environments, that will promote higher levels of student achievement by providing an environment conducive to learning that upholds the ideals of collaboration to ensure the highest levels of professionalism. Professional/Ethical Responsibilities Confidentiality Cooperation and positive attitude Reliability/Punctuality Accuracy and efficiency Respectfulness toward others Honesty The classroom teacher must display, at all times, acceptable professional and ethical standards Will productively participate in Professional Learning Communities Lesson planning, student engagement, entering grades in a timely manner, preparing for competitions and performances Supervision and planning for any off campus activities (Preferred) Willing to support AHS and OMS Theater programs as needed Terms Of Employment Number of teacher days assigned annually Salary per current ASD Master Agreement Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy and procedure for evaluation of certified/licensed staff.
