Job Description
Airfield Maintenance Associate Snelling Staffing is seeking an Airfield Maintenance Associate. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and contributing to safe airport operationsespecially during inclement weather. This position plays a critical role in snow and ice removal, airport maintenance, and facility upkeep. Overtime is common during weather events and emergencies. Maintain airport grounds, buildings, runways, taxiways, roadways, and parking areas. Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, pruning, and debris removal. Assist with snow and ice removal using specialized airport equipment. Patch and repair pavement, paint airfield markings, and perform light construction. Operate commercial equipment including mowers, loaders, skid steers, dump trucks, and sweepers. Respond to maintenance work orders and document completed work using a computer system. Assist with airport events, emergencies, and special projects. Lift, move, and handle materials such as sand, deicer, and equipment. Work safely in all weather conditions and maintain a clean, organized work area. High school diploma or GED. Ability to perform heavy physical work in outdoor conditions. Experience using hand tools, power tools, or operating equipment (preferred, not required). Ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly in English. Basic computer skills (or willingness to learn). Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and during weather emergencies. Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and work on uneven terrain for long periods. Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for extended shifts (up to 13 hours during snow events). Comfortable working around aircraft, heavy equipment, heights, and confined spaces. Valid Kentucky Driver's License (CDL or willingness to obtain is a plus.) Ability to pass background checks and random drug screenings. Ability to obtain airport security clearance and required safety training. Reliable transportation and a smartphone for work communication.
