Job Roles And Responsibilities Lead conceptual and preliminary design of composite airframe structures and system interfaces. Develop CAD models and model-based definitions using advanced design tools. Perform feasibility studies balancing performance, weight, and cost objectives. Own the full design lifecycle including sizing, analysis, design reviews, and production release. Conduct structural and joint sizing calculations for composite structures. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production-ready. Coordinate with suppliers and support design for manufacturability efforts. Establish design standards, best practices, and engineering processes. Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers. Work cross-functionally to ensure designs meet certification and regulatory requirements. Support fabrication, bonding, and assembly processes for composite structures. Qualifications And Certifications Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 7+ years of experience in composite structure design for aerospace or high-performance vehicles. Expertise in composite materials, laminate design, and structural analysis. Proficiency in CAD tools such as Siemens NX and composite design tools like Fibersim. Experience with full product lifecycle from concept through production. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, bonding, and assembly techniques. Familiarity with aviation standards and certification requirements. Experience with PLM systems is a plus. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
