Analyst of Casualty Claims

Position Summary The Claims Analyst is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and processing casualty claims to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of claims processing. The position reports to the Senior Counsel of Casualty Claims. Required Qualifications Manage commercial claims to verify coverage, conduct investigations, analyze liability and damages, and develop resolution strategies Communicate with insureds, adversaries and outside counsel Effectively manage counsel and work with experts in support of insureds defense Ability to establish case reserves Prepare reports on potential exposure for company management Negotiate settlements efficiently within authority limits Ensure all claims are managed in accordance with claims department service standards Additional Qualifications 2-5 years of relevant claims experience handling primary and excess casualty claims Holds and maintains necessary adjuster licenses in states where required JD degree preferred Ability to analyze insurance policies, contracts, legal filings, court opinions, etc., and apply them to the underlying facts of the claim file Superior analytical and organizational skills Excellent communication, negotiation and investigation skills
